A Certified B Corp Since 2015

Using Our Business as a Force for Good

B Corps are for-profit companies certified to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. As Fairtrade is to coffee, Certified Organic is to Food; B Corporation is to your business.

Today, there is a growing community of thousands of companies that have been Certified as B Corps from over 70 countries and 150 industries working together toward 1 unifying goal: to redefine success in business.

This third-party certification means that you can trust the companies you work with and purchase from. Organizations like BDC, The Body Shop, Danone, Method, Patagonia – take a look in the B Corp directory.

Sounds great right, but what does it actually mean? What is a B Corp and how do you become one?

To become a Certified B Corp you need to look at all aspects of your business using B Lab’s 3rd party assessment process. It takes commitment and a bit of time, but it ensures you follow through on best practices for how you run your company, treat your workers, help your community and the environment, as well as interact with your customers.

Take a look at the Light Trail BCorp Impact Report for further details.

Why Become a B Corp?

Getting B Corp certification is about building truly sustainable value, not about sacrificing profit. You do this by involving your community, managing your environmental footprint and improving the lives of all your stakeholders.

Attract and retain great people

Companies that embed their purpose, engage with their community and include good social and environmental practices, attract the best people in support of their organization. Whether that’s staff, community, customers, suppliers or any other stakeholder; you generate more commitment. Good business is good for business.

Benchmark performance

How do you assess how you are doing as a business? Do you want to improve your operations and introduce business practices that the best companies in the world use to measure impact? Using the free B Impact Assessment tool allows you to see how you measure up and how to improve over the long term, both for profit and purpose. Learn through examples of best practice and understand how to do better.

Access new partners and customers

There are thousands of Certified B Corp companies that love doing business with other B Corps, as well as tens of thousands of other organizations that are looking toward a better social purpose in their purchasing. Add to that the significantly growing number of consumers that are thinking about more than price in their buying decisions. Be one of the trusted companies by becoming certified.

Attract investors

Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) is growing exponentially, and traditional investment funds are changing their portfolios to include and sometimes require businesses with purpose. They recognize that by following good practices that care for people and the environment, companies reduce their overall risk and improve the likelihood of success. There are even a number of Certified B Corp investment funds and banks that directly prioritize or incentivize working with other B Corps companies.

Become a leader of change

Demonstrate that you recognize our interdependent community and join a movement that is changing the way business is operated and perceived. Join like-minded organizations with the goal of being good for people, good for the planet and good for purpose/profit.

At the end of the day, you become a B Corp because you want to redefine success in business and use business as a force for good.
