LightTrail walks the walk with our commitment toward a happier global community.

In July 2020 we became the 1st Benefit Company in Canada.

By undertaking the legal process to reincorporate, we further committed our organization to conducting business in a responsible and

sustainable way, and embedding those values and purpose within the legal framework.

The legislation came into effect in BC on June 30th, the first of its kind in Canada and joining over 35 States in the US that have enacted a similar legal practice to create a solid foundation for long term mission alignment.

We are a Certified B Corp. This means that we are committed to using business as a force for good, while meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Originally certified in 2015, we re-certified in 2018 and continue to work on improvements within our business. Check out our B Corp page to understand everything about the process and how we can help your organization introduce better ways to improve your impact and balance purpose, profit and

responsible practices that are good for the planet and your people.

Within our values and as part of the reason for the name of Light Trail, we aim to be conscious of our impact on the environment in everything we do. We're not perfect though, and recognize other organizations are striving to protect and regenerate aspects of our natural world that are significantly impacted by the way we live our lives.

In recognition of these efforts, we became a member of 1% for the planet, joining many other businesses as the engines of positive environmental change. Their mission is to build, support and activate an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet.

Through this organization we are able to connect and support others in their work to create a new environmental legacy.

We acknowledge that we are privileged to live and work on the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

With this recognition and also embedded in our DNA is a commitment to community - we love working with community service organizations and have ensured through our governance practices that everyone joining Light Trail is committed to undertaking at least 10 hours of voluntary service work each month.

Aligned with this, the third non-profit that we support through our volunteer work is Brightside Community Homes Foundation. A Vancouver society that focuses on building resilient communities for those who struggle to meet the demands of market housing.

Brightside provides homes to over 1,000 residents to build a future where people of all income levels have a home within a vibrant and healthy community.
