Who Are We? Good Question.

Founded in 2011, Light Trail Consulting originated from a desire to challenge the idea that you have to choose between profit and purpose. A strong social conscience and belief that these aspects can be brought together began a rewarding journey to help organizations become more values-driven, to prioritize people in everything they do, and to consider the wider impacts of their work. Our own journey took us to B Corp Certification in 2015.

Since our inception, we’ve worked with both for-profit companies and non-profit organizations to bring the best of both worlds together. Growing your purpose or your profit is often considered mutually exclusive, but to have more positive impact you need to generate more funds, and to grow a sustainable organization you need to engage stakeholders in your purpose.

Our Mission

At Light Trail we work with socially-minded leaders to help them realize the full potential of an inclusive, purpose-driven organization.

We do this through:

  • 9Enabling and guiding sustainable, values-driven change
  • 9Building capability in people and strengthening teams
  • 9Helping refine purpose and measuring positive impact
  • 9Encouraging growth in diverse and inclusive cultures

Our goal is to engage, develop and support people as the driving force to improve long-term organizational effectiveness.

Working toward our vision of a Happier Global Community we accomplish this by collaborating with leaders and organizations that want to create a better world. Maybe a grandiose ambition, but nonetheless it keeps us true to our values and means we don’t work with people that exploit or exclude others, or that disregard the impact their organization has on its community or the wider environment.

Our People

As partners, Greg Tooke and Steve Doherty founded Light Trail in 2011. Greg brings clarity to boards and senior executives to help align  people, resources and organizational strategy through purpose and values. Steve has a passion for enabling people to understand and connect with the organization’s purpose, increasing employee engagement and building a sense of belonging.

Our Work

Light Trail brings together years of experience and unique skill sets to guide organizations, especially through times of change. With our extensive knowledge and expertise, we enable you to find clarity and understanding of how to harness and embed your purpose within your organization.

Our approach and consulting process encourages you to be clear and intentional about your needs, align and engage your team in the journey, and to empower your people to reach their potential and successfully sustain the changes.

Our Community Commitments

At Light Trail we apply the same values-first approach to our own community commitments. We are a Benefit Company, which legally commits us to conduct our business in a responsible and sustainable way. Light Trail is also a Certified B Corp. This means that we are committed to using business as a force for good all while meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

Light Trail is also a member of 1% For The Planet, whose mission is to build, support and activate an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthier planet.

Closer to home, we also support Brightside Community Homes Foundation who are focused on building resilient communities for those who struggle to meet the demands of market housing.

Identify how your organization can engage people through a connection to your community.

On each project that we engaged with Light Trail, their knowledge, expertise and experience ensured they were consistently on-target with their approach to understanding the issues, aligning employees toward a common set of objectives and developing a plan to achieve those objectives. They developed strong and respectful relationships with our employees, were collaborative in their methods for determining the best course of action and were highly effective in addressing the issues and achieving organizational and operational improvements in each project they worked on with our organization.
